Ribfest Moncton 2024: A Feast for BBQ Lovers

Introduction:
Ribfest Moncton 2024 was an absolute treat for BBQ enthusiasts like us. This rib festival, featuring some of the best rib cook-offs from the United States and Canada, brought together five outstanding participants. With mouth-watering ribs and a festive atmosphere, it was an event we couldn’t miss.

Visit Details:
We visited Ribfest twice to ensure we could sample ribs from all five participants. It was impossible to try everything in one sitting, so we spread our culinary adventure over two visits.

Food and Beverages:

• Ribs:
  • Pistol Pete’s:
    Tummy: Pistol Pete’s ribs were my top pick. They were incredibly flavorful and fell right off the bone, making every bite a delight. Yummy: While I enjoyed Pistol Pete’s, my favorite was Billy Bones for its rich flavor and generous portion size.
  • Billy Bones BBQ:
    Yummy: The richness of Billy Bones’ ribs was unparalleled. The larger portion size also made it feel like a great deal. Tummy: Billy Bones’ ribs were also a close second for me, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked.
  • Other Participants:
    While we loved the ribs from all participants, these two stood out the most for us.
• Cornbread:
  • Texas Rangers:
    Tummy: Texas Rangers’ cornbread was my favorite. The crunchy exterior and soft interior made it irresistible.
  • Billy Bones BBQ:
    Yummy: Once again, Billy Bones took the top spot for me. Their cornbread had the perfect texture and taste.

• Other Items:
  We also tried a sausage from Texas Rangers and a brisket sandwich from Camp 31. Both were delicious, but we couldn’t rank them without points of comparison.

• Special Mention:
  On our way out, we had a pecan pie from Cake Lady Ingrid. It was moist, flavorful, and a perfect end to our Ribfest experience.

Service and Ambiance:
The event was self-service with long lines, but that added to the overall ambiance and allure. The line at Crabby’s BBQ Shack was particularly fun because of the staff’s energetic cheers whenever someone tipped. Their enthusiasm was infectious and added a positive vibe to the experience.

Overall Experience:
Ribfest Moncton 2024 was a fantastic event. The bands and music were great, and the picnic-style seating added to the fun. We were lucky to enjoy some shade, making the experience even more pleasant.

Suggestions for Improvement:
While we thoroughly enjoyed the event, we felt it would be even better if they offered a sampler menu. Paying for a sample from each participant would make it easier to compare their products. Timing also seemed to affect our ratings, as some booths were visited later in the day.
